# Map your process and see the hours you could save each week

See who does each step, how long each step takes, and how many hours automating the process could save.

- About 3 minutes

- Stays in your browser

## What you get

You get a map of one process, step by step, with the hours it takes your team each week. The map shows how many of those hours automating the process could save, and marks the step to automate first. For example, a home-services firm might map a repair visit from the first call to the paid invoice. The map could show eleven hours a week, most of them in booking visits and chasing payment.

## How it works

1. **Choose your kind of business and the process.** The mapper has 38 common processes across eight kinds of business. Every step is named the way your team would say it, such as *Answering patient calls*.
2. **Say how your team does each step today.** You tap one answer per step, for example *by phone*, *by email* or *in your booking software*. Skip any step your team doesn’t do.
3. **Check three things for each step on one screen.** The screen shows who does the step, how long it takes and how often, and what goes wrong. The mapper fills in what’s usual for your kind of business, so you only change what’s different.
4. **See your result.** The result shows the hours a week, the hours you could save, and the step to automate first.

## Questions

### What is business process mapping?

Business process mapping is writing down how a piece of recurring work gets done, step by step. A good map shows who does each step, how long each step takes, and where the work waits for someone.

### Do I need special software to map a process?

You don’t need special software for one process: paper, a whiteboard or this mapper is enough. Diagram tools such as Miro or Lucidchart help when a team keeps many maps up to date.

### How accurate is the result?

The result is an estimate from your own answers, so it’s as accurate as your guesses about time. You can open *How we worked it out* under the result, and change any answer to watch the hours update.

### What can I do with my map?

You can download your map as a PDF and keep it. You can also ask us for a free prototype of the step your map marks first. Asking sends us your map and your email address, and nothing is sent before you ask.

## Your map is the start of a free prototype.

After a 30-minute call, we build a clickable prototype of your process in two to four days. The prototype shows the screens your team would use, with sample data, so nothing touches your real inbox or books. You keep the map and our proposal, whatever you decide.
